The Truth About 2016: What the Latest DNI Report Reveals About the Deep State

In the immediate lead-up to the 2016 election and through President Trump’s first administration, the mainstream media bombarded Americans with reports claiming the president had colluded with the Russian government to steal the election from Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. This reporting was backed by Democratic politicians and Obama-era intelligence officials who insisted that concrete evidence would ultimately prove the claims.

This led to the FBI’s “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation, Congressional investigations, and other government probes, none of which implicated President Trump or his associates in the alleged collusion. Nevertheless, the accusations, investigations, and nonstop negative media reporting served to significantly undermine the president’s ability to govern during his first term.

In mid-July, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard started releasing declassified documents proving that the claimed collusion was based on manufactured and politicized intelligence foisted on the American public by highlevel intelligence officials with support from then-President Obama. In short, the Clinton campaign and outgoing administration, with the help of Deep State operatives, manufactured the “Russian Collusion” hoax, first to sway the election

in favor of Clinton, and failing that, to then undermine the Trump Administration’s ability to govern.

The Smoking Gun: Clinton Campaign’s Role in the Trump-Russia Hoax

The DNI declassified report confirms that the hoax was initially instigated by the Hillary Clinton campaign and personally approved by her. They fostered the hoax with a dual purpose of smearing candidate Trump with false claims of Russian collusion while distracting the public from Clinton’s mounting email scandal. After Clinton lost the election, outgoing President Obama met with top national security and intelligence officials to ensure the continuation of the hoax into the Trump presidency. 

The Intelligence Community’s Complicity

The DNI document releases prove that then-current FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI Director James Clapper, and other high-ranking intelligence officials knew that the Clinton Campaign’s intelligence on the alleged collusion — including the highly suspect “Steele Dossier” — was fraudulent.

However, with support from Obama, these Deep State operatives manipulated government intelligence to support alleged Russian collusion by the Trump Administration and hid intelligence disproving it. To further push the TrumpRussia hoax, they leaked faulty intelligence to the press and blatantly lied to the public and Congress.

Why This Should Outrage Every American

As noted by Director Gabbard, upon release of the DNI declassified report, officials at the highest level of government committed a treasonous conspiracy. “Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the president from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.”

Meanwhile, much of the mainstream media remains the lapdog propaganda arm of the Democratic Party and is striving to ignore, downplay, or debunk these revelations about Deep State corruption. Thus, many Americans remain in the dark about it, a slap in the face to a public that relies on the press to expose government corruption and malfeasance.

Where’s the Accountability?

None of this Deep State corruption means anything if no one is held to account. DNI Director Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe have sent relevant elements of the DNI declassified report to the Department of Justice and the FBI for potential criminal investigation. A DOJ-FBI task force is also reportedly reviewing related criminal referrals requested by the House Intelligence Committee regarding potential perjury by Obama officials during closed-door hearings.
